The Settlers of Catan is a multiplayer board game designed by Klaus Teuber and first published in 1995 in Germany by Franckh-Kosmos Verlag (Kosmos) as Die Siedler von Catan. Players assume the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players are rewarded points as their settlements grow; the first to reach 10 points is the winner.
The tournament will be played across 4 rounds, with 4 players per table. Victory Points scored in the game (up to 10) count towards your tournament score, with the winner from each table getting a bonus victory point. The player with the most points at the end of the tournament is the winner.
Players can give each other advice. A trade is completed once players exchange cards physically, and can cancel any negotiated trade until that point. Players can only collect their resources on the turn that they receive them, and cannot promise future resources as part of a trade.
