News for all UK quiz league teams:
BBC Radio 4 is looking for quiz teams to compete in a brand new radio
quiz series beginning in spring 2001.
Can you name the following?
- The author of a novel called Manhattan Transfer?
- The Roman Emperor who succeeded Nero?
- A planet of the solar system whose satellites are all named after Shakespearian characters?
- Two characters in Beckett's Waiting for Godot apart from Vladimir and Estragon?
- The architects of, respectively, the Guggenheim in New York and the Guggenheim in Bilbao?
- Three capital cities which stand at an altitude over 2000 metres?
- Four TV presenters who worked with Basil Brush?
- Four bones in the human head?
- Five marsupials?
If so, you may be the kind of team we're looking for to compete for the honour
of being named BBC Radio 4's quiz team of the year. You will need formidably
broad general knowledge - but also the liveliness and personality to connect
with Radio 4's listeners in a series of entertaining weekly matches.
Auditions for the new series will be taking place in March, and quiz teams of
THREE players from all over the UK are invited to apply.
If you'd like more details or an application form, contact the production
team by writing to Paul Bajoria, BBC Radio 4, Oxford Road, Manchester M60 1SJ
