RULE CHANGES
It has been recognised that the standard of play has improved substantially over the years. This year's world championship was particularly strong. The inventor of the game was a participant and in spite of achieving high scores she won only one encounter in 5 rounds.
The current tournament rules can be viewed here.
The following rule changes have been proposed for next year's world championship.
- Each player shall be dealt 20 cards face down at the start of the game. This ensures that when one player runs out of time the opponent has only their own cards to use to complete their score.
- Four cards to be exposed in front of each player at all times: i.e. At the end of a turn each player exposes the next card immediately and places it in front of them. This improves the game enabling the opponent to improve defensive tactics.
TIE-BREAKS
For next year the following tie-break should be used:
- Game between the individuals concerned
- Scores to be recorded and sum of scores used
- Sum of progressive scores.
