A
major Charity Simultaneous Pairs,
scored across Internet in the same way as the World Wide Bridge
Contest in June,
is to be held on 22 & 23 August 2000
Mind
Sports Organisation World Wide is sponsoring this new event.
A large proportion of the entry fees will be donated to Charity
as follows:
For the British Heats: The
Save the Children Fund
For the American Heats: The
ACBL Educational Foundation
For the Rest of the World: IRME
(Institut de la Recherche sur la moelle épinière). This is a charity
for spinal cord research
Special heats will be held at the
Mind
Sports Olympiad to be held at Alexandra Palace in London
from 21 - 28 August 2000 and it is anticipated that these heats
will be very popular, both with players living locally and with
players en route to the World
Teams Olympiad in Maastricht.
MSOW hopes that clubs all over the
world will help make this a very successful event, thus providing
the maxiumum assistance to the Charities involved whilst promoting
Bridge as a Sport throughout all nations.
