At the Fall NABC in Birmingham, the team captained by George Jacobs emerged the victor in the Reisinger Board-A-Match Teams in an extremely tight finish. Less than a board separated the top three teams. Richard Finberg’s team was slightly more than half a board behind, and the squad captained by npc Lou Ann O’Rourke was only a quarter of a board further back. Daily Bulletins

The 1st EOC Bridge Tournament
came to an end yesterday with The Netherlands beating Poland 2 to become the first ever winners of the CA~IB Trophy.

The Fall NABC is now underway in Birmingham, Alabama.

Shawn Quinn and Mildred Breed have successfully defended their championship in the Life Master Women's Pairs and Jill Meyers, picking up where she left off at the 1999 Fall NABC in Boston, won the Life Master Open Pairs last night, playing with first-time partner Steve Garner.

17 November 2000 The first European Olympic Committee Bridge Tournament, the CA-IB Trophy is being played from 17 - 19 November in Warsaw. The Tournament can be watched live on Internet at www.cronix.pl/bridge.(only available once the competition starts)

The tournament starts this evening (Friday) and continues throughout Saturday and during Sunday. Bulletins will also be available on the Internet site.

The 2000 Lederer Memorial Trophy was held at the Young Chelsea Bridge Club on 4th-5th November. This prestigious event, staged each year by the London Metropolitan Bridge Association, is for invited teams which include most of England's top players and many stars from elsewhere.

Because of the weather and disruptions to the railways, two teams, Ireland and the Gold Cup Winners, had to field last-minute substitute players. Despite this, both did well in the competition, Ireland leading for much of the event, though at the end the holders came through to win for the third year running. Results

The semi-finals of the 3rd IOC Grand Prix in Lausanne, start today. The standings after the round robin matches are USA in first position followed by Indonesia, Italy and Poland.

The 3rd IOC Grand Prix has begun in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the official opening, welcoming the World's outstanding teams to Lausanne, the President of the World Bridge Federation, José Damiani acknowledged the magnificent support of the Generali Group and the IOC and thanked the players for giving their time to this prestigious event, while the President of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Antonio Samaranch, wished the organisers and Competitors every success in this important event.
